At Zenzability, we work with participants who require evidence for SIL funding under the NDIS. Our occupational therapists complete assessments that reflect the level of help a person needs to live safely and with support in a shared or individual living arrangement.
We assess how someone manages daily tasks, what support they currently receive, and what is needed going forward. Whether you are preparing for a new SIL application or responding to a request for updated documentation, we ensure the report is ready for submission and aligned with NDIA requirements.
The assessment may include supervision needs, personal care tasks, assistance with routines, support across a 24-hour period, and environmental or behavioural factors. Reports can also contribute to Roster of Care documentation when needed.
SIL assessments are funded under Improved Daily Living. We support both plan-managed and self-managed participants and help make the process easy to understand from the first step through to final report delivery.
Zenzability works closely with support coordinators, families, and providers to make sure reports reflect what’s actually happening day-to-day.
The report includes:
Call, email, or fill out our enquiry form. Our team will explain how the SIL assessment works, what information is needed, and how we can help prepare a report suitable for submission to the NDIA.
We’ll arrange a time to meet. One of our occupational therapists will complete an assessment in your home or supported environment. They may also speak with carers or support workers to understand your current setup and support pattern.
Once the assessment is complete, we write and send your SIL Assessment report. The report outlines support needs, key observations, and relevant details to support a SIL funding request.
A SIL Assessment is a written report prepared by an allied health professional, typically an occupational therapist. It outlines the level of daily support a person needs to live safely in a supported or shared home environment. The report is used as part of a Home and Living application to request SIL funding from the NDIA.
Any NDIS participant preparing a Home and Living application may need a SIL Assessment. These are commonly arranged by support coordinators or plan managers. The assessment is available to participants with plan-managed or self-managed funding and is often required when support needs change or when renewing a current SIL arrangement.
The assessment involves a visit from an occupational therapist who reviews your support needs at home. They may observe daily activities, speak with support workers or family, and identify supervision requirements, routines, or safety considerations. The findings are written into a report that can be used to apply for SIL funding.
Most assessments are completed within two to three weeks, including the in-person assessment and delivery of the written report. If the NDIA has set a deadline or review date, we’ll take this into account when scheduling the appointment.
